Oran organised crime unit seizes more than 67 kg of cannabis resin said to come from Morocco

The Directorate General of National Security said in a communiqué reported on 3 September 2026 that the Oran regional service for combating organised crime had seized more than 67 kilograms of kif traité which the DGSN stated came from Morocco, and had arrested one member of a transnational criminal network. According to the communiqué the operation followed field investigation and blocked an attempt to move a consignment concealed aboard a passenger car towards one of the western wilayas. Officers also recovered a 9 mm pistol with live ammunition, three passenger cars and a sum of about 500 million centimes described as criminal proceeds. The accused was brought before the prosecutor at the Es-Sénia court in Oran.
