PDEA seizes five kilograms of marijuana bricks and cannabis vape pens in a Davao City buy-bust

The Mindanao Times reported that five kilograms of suspected dried marijuana bricks and cannabis-infused vape pens were seized in a buy-bust operation at St Peter Julian Eymard Village in Barangay 19-B in Davao City at about 1.15 pm on Friday 28 August 2026. According to the report the operation was carried out by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency regional office XI with the National Bureau of Investigation XI, the City Mobile Force Company and Ecoland police station, and a 26-year-old man was arrested after allegedly selling a cling-wrapped brick of about one kilogram to an undercover agent. A subsequent search yielded three further bricks and four rolled packages weighing four kilograms in total, 18 disposable vape pens suspected of containing cannabis oil, one used vape pen and the marked buy-bust money, with the total value put at 600,000 pesos. The report states the material was turned over to the forensic laboratory for qualitative and quantitative examination and that the suspect will face charges under Republic Act No. 9165.
