Customs seize 41.5 kg of marijuana worth ₱62.3M from four Bangkok arrivals at NAIA Terminal 3
The Bureau of Customs arrested four Filipino passengers arriving from Bangkok at Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 3 on 30 July 2026 after eight pieces of luggage were found to hold suspected cannabis. BOC-NAIA District Collector Yasmin Mapa said the bags were flagged by X-ray screening and a K9 inspection conducted by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency. Physical examination recovered around 41,551 grams valued at ₱62.326 million, a figure reported by the Inquirer and Journal Online on 30 July while examination was still under way. The Daily Tribune reported on 1 August that Customs officials gave 41,851 grams with an estimated value of ₱62,776,500. That report named the NAIA Inter-Agency Drug Interdiction Task Group and the Customs Intelligence and Investigation Service among the units involved. The four were taken into PDEA custody and face charges of drug importation under Republic Act 9165 in relation to the Customs Modernization and Tariff Act.
