Police report destroying 360 cannabis plants and a grow-house in the Rio Claro forest

The Trinidad Guardian reported a Police Service release saying that officers of the Jungle Operations Team, Air Support Unit, Eastern Division Task Force and Eastern Division Gang Intelligence Unit trekked about one kilometre into the Rio Claro forest on Wednesday 29 July 2026, between 5.30 am and 8.30 am. They found a cannabis field and a grow-house on roughly half a lot of land and destroyed 360 plants, of which 200 were fully grown and 160 were seedlings, with an estimated street value of TT$200,000. The article says the operation formed part of Operation R.E.S.O.L.U.T.E., that the grow-house, estimated at TT$10,000, was also destroyed, and that no arrest was reported.
