Police report destroying about 5,000 cannabis trees on two fields in the La Lune Forest at Moruga

The Trinidad Guardian reported that officers of the Police Service destroyed approximately 5,000 fully grown cannabis trees, valued at TT$5 million, in the La Lune Forest, Moruga, on Tuesday. It says the operation was coordinated by Assistant Commissioner Teewarie of the Criminal Investigations Branch, with supervision on the ground by the Jungle Operations Team, and support from Moruga Police, the Air Support Unit and the Southern Division Task Force. The two fields covered roughly one and a half acres, and the article says water containers and cultivation equipment were also dismantled.
