Kaeng Krachan park chief leads a helicopter operation to 16 border forest sites cleared for crops and cannabis
Sanook News reported that Chaiwat Limlikitaksorn, head of Kaeng Krachan National Park, opened an operation named Tanaosri at Chai Phaendin and along the Thai–Myanmar border. Nearly 100 park rangers, soldiers of the Thap Phraya Suea task force and the Kaeng Krachan special warfare training camp, Border Patrol Police Company 144 and Phetchaburi provincial police were flown by two helicopters to 16 target sites where trees had been felled, forest burned, animals hunted and land opened for field crops mixed with cannabis. The governor of Phetchaburi, Monthian Thongnit, flew over the 16 sites and landed at Ban Chai Phaendin in Huai Mae Phriang subdistrict. He said the law would be enforced strictly against Thais and members of ethnic groups alike, whether living in Thailand or coming from neighbouring countries.
