Kiriwong (also Khiri Wong) is a landrace cannabis appellation in the Nakhon Si Thammarat growing area, in Lan Saka District, Nakhon Si Thammarat Province, Thailand. It has two accessions from the village, a herbarium specimen collected in 1951 and a seed accession collected in 2025.

Geography

The appellation is the valley above the village of Khiri Wong, on the eastern side of the Khao Luang massif, up to the mountain's ridge. The rest of Lan Saka District forms the Lan Saka appellation, whose accessions were collected about 16 km to the south. The seed accession gives a point at 49 m. The 1951 specimen was collected at Tab Chang, Khiri Wong, at 400 m.[1]

Cultivation

P. Suvarnakoses collected the herbarium specimen on 16 December 1951. Its label calls the plant Kan cha, says it was used for smoking and adds: "Scattered in open area, uncommon, crop in garden".[1]

The seed accession is a general population from the 2023 harvest, collected by Éloïse and Isabella on the NST03 expedition, with a collection date of 15 April 2025. It describes a crop sown directly from seed kept on the farm, for recreation and medicine, grown in rotation in a single field or household plot, with a flowering time of 20 to 24 weeks and a plant height of 2 to 3 m. Cultivation is inactive.
