Indonesia cannabis events (2022)

From Landrace.wiki
Main article: Eradication campaigns in Indonesia

Indonesia eradication campaigns (2022) covers cannabis eradication reporting from Indonesia during 2022. The documented record comprises two farmer-scale cultivation cases in North Sumatra's Lake Toba rim regencies: a two-field case of 492 plants in Karo in January and a 300-plant case on Samosir island in April. Both cases came from regency police work and community information; both defendants were local farmers.

Documented operations

On 7 January Satresnarkoba Polres Tanah Karo announced two cannabis fields at Desa Seberaya, Tigapanah district, Karo regency, totalling 492 plants across growth stages: 313 harvest-ready plants, 21 harvested stems and 136 seedlings at the first field and 15 harvest-ready plants with 21 seedlings at the second. Two local men were arrested, with charges under Articles 111 and 114 of the 2009 Narcotics Law.[1]

On 20 April Polres Samosir arrested a farmer at Desa Dosroha, Simanindo district, Samosir regency, after finding about 300 plants following a two-month investigation. The suspect told police he had sold dried cannabis at Rp100,000 per package for nearly three years; a police briefing that week put the cultivation at two plots covering about half a hectare.[2]
