Daemainhwan (大麻仁丸, "cannabis seed pill") is a honey pill of Korean medicine recorded in the Donguibogam of 1613. In the gram weights of the Korean Traditional Knowledge Portal it is made of 11.25 g each of parched rhubarb root (大黃) and cannabis seed (麻仁, main) and 37.5 g each of aucklandia root (木香), areca nut (檳榔) and bitter orange (枳殼). The drugs are pounded, mixed with honey and made into pills the size of a parasol-tree seed, of which 30 to 50 are taken with boiled water on an empty stomach. It is given for wind impediment (風痹), with swelling and wandering pain in the joints of the limbs.[1]

The Donguibogam also has a "small cannabis seed pill", somainhwan (小麻仁丸), of angelica root, peach kernel, cannabis seed, fresh rehmannia and bitter orange in equal weights, for constipation from dryness of the blood. It takes the formula from the Yixue rumen (醫學入門) of 1575.[2] In Korean medicine the seed (麻仁, ma-in) is used for constipation caused by dryness of the intestines.[3]
