2023 ATA Madagascar Zamala Reproduction is a seed accession of Madagascar Zamala, a line that ATAO Genetics grew from seed brought from southern Madagascar. ATAO's listing on Hemp Depot calls its seed "P2 from landrace (South Madagascar)".[1]
Collection Details
When ATAO opened its thread on the line in September 2023 it wrote: "Tiny seeds collected in South from Betroka areas."[2] A month later it wrote that the seed "probably" came from Betroka.[3] In May 2024 it said that the cannabis and the seed in it had been obtained in Toliara, in the south-west, from a community of surfers, and that the growing areas lie more in the south-central countryside, particularly around the Betroka mountains in the south-east.[4] No date of collection is given.
Cultivation Details
ATAO's first generation, labelled "Madagascar Zamala P1", was a parent of a cross it gave away free in January 2024.[5] In March 2024 it opened a private sale of the line by email.[6] In May 2024 it called its seed an "F2 from bagseed import, 12 females x 6 males".[7] Hemp Depot later listed a P2.[1] In July 2026 ATAO wrote that it had not worked the line since its P2.[8]
