That Phanom is a landrace cannabis growing area in That Phanom District, Nakhon Phanom Province, Thailand, in the Northeastern Thailand growing region. Its four accessions, collected at one site on the Mekong terrace, are inbred landrace lines.
Geography
The four accessions share one point at That Phanom, at 147 m. Si Songkhram lies about 105 km to the north-west and Ban Phaeng about 120 km to the north-north-west.
Cultivation
All four are classified as Landrace IBL, inbred landrace lines, and each is a general population from the 2023 harvest: Thai Issara 'Freedom, Tanaosri 'White, and two lines named for Suranaree University, Squirrel Tail and Tiger Tail. The grower is Seeds of Peace, and the last two are called หางกระรอก and หางเสือ locally.
They describe active cultivation that is widespread in the region, planted from July to September and harvested from January to March, for recreation, medicine and food, and made into ganja, with a flowering time of 20 to 24 weeks and a plant height of 2 to 3 m. Éloïse collected all four on 26 April 2024, on the ISAN01 expedition.
