Siebold s.n. is a fruit and seed accession of Cannabis sativa from Japan, catalogued under the name of Philipp Franz von Siebold and undated. The Naturalis Biodiversity Center in Leiden holds it in its carpological collection as L 0421683.[1] No image of the lot is published; this page reports the Naturalis catalogue.
Collection and locality
The Naturalis catalogue gives the collector Siebold, PF von, with no number, the country Japan, and no place within it and no date. It gives the basis of the unit as Carpologica, the collection of fruits and seeds, and an earlier number, 5208.[1] GBIF gives the same collector and country, with 5208 as another catalogue number.[2] Naturalis holds three more Japanese units in Siebold's name: Siebold s.n. (by 1866), L 0420299 and Siebold s.n. (by 1866), L 0420300, and the lectotype of Cannabis sativa var. angustifolia, Siebold s.n. (by 1866).
Specimen and identification
The Naturalis catalogue and GBIF determine the lot as Cannabis sativa L.[1][2] Naturalis publishes no image of it, and its contents and any label have not been seen for this page.
