Parvati General Population 2024 is a landrace cannabis accession from the Parvati Valley, in Kullu District, Himachal Pradesh, India, listed as Parvati in the seed catalogue of The Real Seed Company (RSC).[1] RSC describes it as a resinous charas plant of the Indian Himalaya that produces soft, sticky resin similar to the famous Malana Cream charas.[1] The line is on sale at RSC and on its Kwik Seeds site (checked 27 October 2026).[1][2]
Geography
RSC gives a latitude of 32° N and writes that the cultigen is grown at high altitudes, often over 2,500 metres, and is well adapted to extremes of weather such as intense rain, cold and wind.[1]
History
RSC writes that modern hybrids were brought to the Kullu and Parvati region at least as early as the 1980s, and that the valley's populations are increasingly affected by tourists bringing seeds to farmers. It warns collectors that absolute authenticity cannot be guaranteed.[1]
Collection Details
The listing gives the sourcing as "The Real Seed Company, Parvati Valley, Indian Himalaya (Winter 2024)". It has given that sourcing since September 2025; earlier lots sold under the same title are not this accession.[3]
Cultivation Details
RSC gives the purposes as charas (hand-rubbed resin), fibre and seeds, and the harvest as late September through October, and lists greenhouse or outdoor growing.[1] It writes that Himalayan plants are traditionally used as medicine, and that earlier Parvati accessions it has sold drew positive feedback from medicinal growers.[1]
Botanical Characteristics
RSC gives a height of 2 to 6 metres and describes a tall, lanky plant with long internodes and sparse but intensely resinous buds, as is typical of Himalayan domesticates. It lists floral and fruity aromas, orange and mango, with deeper "hash" notes.[1] It writes that feral, jungli phenotypes may appear, as in all Himalayan cannabis crops; that CBD and THCV have been reported in Parvati strains; and that chemotypes with significant levels of CBD are common. It notes that broad leaflets at the seedling stage are characteristic of traditional Himalayan domesticates.[1]
