Bon s.n., Lan Mát is a herbarium accession of Cannabis sativa gathered from a cultivated plant at Lan Mát, in Tonkin, northern Vietnam, on 17 June 1884 by the missionary Henri François Bon. The Muséum national d’Histoire naturelle holds the sheet as P06884287.[1]
Collection and locality
The collector's slip is handwritten and carries no number: Cannabis sativa (cult.), Ipse legi H. Bon (I collected it myself) and Lan Mát 17 Juin 1884.[2] The printed museum label reads Plantes du Tonkin méridional. Le R. P. Bon, 1883–1891.[2] The catalogue gives the locality as Lan mat, the date as 17 June 1884 and the collector as Bon, H.F., with no number.[1]
Specimen and identification
The slip marks the plant (cult.), cultivated.[2] The sheet carries a leafy branch with dense flowering tops. The catalogue records the plant as Cannabis sativa L., determined by Querido, and leaves out the cultivation note.[1] Bon's earlier gathering from the same place is Bon 2113 (1883), a cultivated male plant.
