Beni Gmil is a cannabis appellation in the Beni Boufrah growing area, covering the rural commune of Beni Gmil in Al Hoceima Province, in the central Rif Mountains of northern Morocco.
Geography
The appellation is the commune. It adjoins the Beni Boufrah appellation.
Growing
In 2004 the national cannabis survey of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime and the development agency for the northern provinces measured yields on plots at Bni Gmil.[1]: 56
Seed collections
The genebank of INRA Maroc holds seed of the local cannabis collected in the commune at Imachehouden, Ibarranene, Tidmamine and Imachehoudene in September 2021.[2][3][4][5]
