The Lataguri Feral Selection 2025 is a feral landrace cannabis accession collected by Isabella of the Zomia Collective in West Bengal, India.

Geography

Lataguri is located in Jalpaiguri District, West Bengal, India, within the Gorumara landrace cannabis growing area of The Dooars growing region.

Administratively, the area belongs to Kranti CD block in the subdivision of Malbazar which itself belongs to the Jalpaiguri district of West Bengal state.

Collection Details

This accession was documented by Isabella in July 2025. A total of 6,375 seeds were hand selected from a self-seeding, feral landrace cannabis population of 8-10 plants found growing near Lataguri.

The population is self-seeding, growing with no human cultivation or management. Seeds were selected from multiple female plants within the feral population.

Population Characteristics

The feral population near Lataguri is a small self-seeding stand. The population is actively growing and self-reproducing. The population estimate is 8-10 plants.

The sex ratio shows approximately 40% of plants are male, with 60% female. No hermaphroditic plants were observed (0% hermaphroditism). No culling occurs as this is a feral population without human management.

Feral cannabis populations such as this are legally tolerated in this area, seen as no more than common weeds.

The leaf shape is narrow.

Flowering time ranges from 18 to 24 weeks.
