Yu s.n., Beijing is a herbarium accession of Cannabis sativa collected in the environs of Peking (Beijing), China, between 1926 and 1928, under the name of T. T. Yu. The Institute of Botany, Chinese Academy of Sciences in Beijing holds three sheets, PE 00557891[1], PE 00557892[2] and PE 00761632[3].
Collection and locality
Each sheet carries a slip of the herbarium of the Institute of Botany, Chinese Academy of Sciences, written in ink: 北京近郊 (environs of Peking), 1926–28年採 (collected 1926–28) and 俞德浚先生贈 (presented by Mr Yü Te-tsun).[4][5][6] PE 00557891 also has two copies of a typed label that gives Yu, T. T. and (1926-28) in the field for the collector's name, number and year, and Hopei and Peiking for the place.[4] No number is given. The catalogue gives the collector as T. T. Yu, without a number, and the year 1926.[1]
Specimen and identification
PE 00557891 carries a male flowering top, PE 00557892 a fruiting branch and PE 00761632 a branch with open male flower clusters.[4][5][6] The typed label names the plant Cannabis sativa Linn., determined by C. S. Chang, and a later slip on each sheet Cannabis sativa L., signed and dated 1956.[4][5][6] The Chinese Virtual Herbarium publishes its sheet images under a non-commercial, no-derivatives licence (CC BY-NC-ND 4.0); they are read and cited here, not reproduced.
