Tha Sala is a landrace cannabis appellation in the Nakhon Si Thammarat growing area, covering Tha Sala District, Nakhon Si Thammarat Province, Thailand. Five of its accessions were collected at Na Thon, at 218 m.
Geography
The appellation is the district. The five accessions from Na Thon share one point. Two older accessions, ZOM-THA-001-0020210018 and ZOM-THA-001-0020210019, are also from Tha Sala district. The Phrom Khiri appellation adjoins it to the south and Sichon to the north.
Cultivation
The two older accessions are general populations of a line called Meun Sri, from 1990 and 2010.
The five from Na Thon are landrace general populations from the 2023 harvest, under two names: three are Mor Samut and two Na Thon. They describe a crop sown directly from seed kept on the farm, for recreation and medicine, grown in rotation in a single field or household plot, with a flowering time of 20 to 24 weeks and a plant height of 2 to 3 m. Cultivation is inactive. The collectors class the population as pure landrace. Éloïse and Isabella collected all five on the NST03 expedition, with a collection date of 15 April 2025.
