Sources

  • Demkin (1971), volume 34 of the collected papers of the All-Union Research Institute of Bast Crops, p. 96.
  • Tarasov and Tarchokov (1974), volume 35 of the same series, pp. 91–92. The soil figures in their table are averages for 1969–1970.
  • Maksimov, Gabzalilov and Agliullin (2020) cite for the North Ossetian cases a file of the State Archive of the Russian Federation (fond A-428, inventory 3, file 561, sheet 4).
  • Genesys passport data for the two lots, accessed on 24 October 2026. The lot of the Institute of Bast Crops also carries the number 00405.
  • The law: Babayan (1990) for the USSR decree of 22 June 1987, the RSFSR criminal code in its wording of 1987, Sumachev (2018) for the RSFSR decree of 29 June 1987, and the Kazakh SSR code in its wording of 1987.

Name and kind

  • The title follows the English list of the Soviet law in Babayan (1990), "South Arkhon". Maksimov and others write «Южно-Архонская»; the genebanks write Juzhnaja Arxonskaja (Vavilov Institute) and Yuzhnaia Arkhonskaia (Institute of Bast Crops).
  • The infobox kind is "Local name": the sources give no zoning record for the variety.
  • No source cited here explains the name. A link with the stanitsa of Arkhonskaya in North Ossetia is not given in the sources, so the article gives no meaning for the name.

Not in the sources

  • The breeder, the breeding station, the year of origin, a zoning record, a description of the plant and the area sown are not given in any source cited here. The likeliest printed sources, Senchenko and others, Сорта конопли, их районирование и способы использования (1978), and Nevinnykh's report of 1966 on breeding southern bast-fibre crops in the North Caucasus, are not available online.
  • No source gives a reason for adding the variety to the law in 1987. The article states the North Ossetian convictions of 1968–1969 and the law of 1987 in their order, without linking them.
