Discussion
Identifier
The accession identifier is RSC-RUS-CHE-0120240001, built from the holder, the ISO 3166-1 alpha-3 country, the province segment, the month, the year and the sequence number.
- Province segment
CHEis for Chelyabinsk Oblast, where the sourcing line places Chebarkul, as on the Landrace Bureau and Khalifa Genetics accessions from Chebarkul. - Year 2024 is the year of the listing's earliest archived version, May 2024; the sources give no year for the reproduction or for the original collection. The month digits are
01. - Sequence 0001. It is the only RSC accession for this province segment.
Sourcing
The RSC listing for Siberian Ruderalis as it stood on 27 October 2026 and its seven versions in the Wayback Machine from May 2024 to March 2026; the Kwik Seeds listing as it stood on 26 October 2026; RSC's post of 15 August 2025; and the GRIN-Global entries for G 33889, G 33888, G 33760 and G 33690. Kwik Seeds is the shop RSC calls its other site (RSC, Hemp & Multipurpose).
Lots at this listing
All seven archived versions give the same sourcing line and call the seed the third generation, so one lot has been on sale. The versions from July 2025 to March 2026 add that the seed is "from the first reproduction of the original accession to be made outside Siberia", and point to new seeds from a breeding project working the line at 50° N and 1,200 metres; the current listing has neither sentence.
Evidentiary scope
This page is the reproduction RSC sells. The original accession is not documented on the wiki: RSC's Siberian listing, which the Kwik Seeds listing links to, is no longer in RSC's catalogue, and the sources do not give its year, its collector or the lot it came from. The sourcing line names the Russian Landrace Bureau, which the wiki documents as Landrace Bureau; the sources do not say which of that company's Chebarkul lots, if any, RSC's original accession was.
Typing
- Classification: Feral, after the listing's "Ruderal Siberian Cannabis" and RSC's post calling the Siberian accession a feral form of the Eurasian Steppe, as on RSC-KAZ-JAM-0120190001.
- Accession type: Reproduction, autochtonous
No: the listing calls the seed the third generation acclimatised at 50° N. - Parent accession is left empty: the sources do not name the lot the original accession came from.
- Related accessions. The three Landrace Bureau accessions from Chebarkul (RLB-RUS-CHE-0120210001, RLB-RUS-CHE-0120240001, RLB-RUS-CHE-0120240002) and Khalifa Genetics' Siberian Ruderalis (KHA-RUS-CHE-0120190001), seed of populations at the same lake.
- Province. Chelyabinsk Oblast, from the sourcing line. The listing also calls the original accession "from Bashkortostan", a neighbouring republic; the province follows the place named in the sourcing line.
- Purpose and processing.
N/A, from the listing's "Purpose: n/a". - Photoperiod.
Day-neutral, from the listing's "autoflowering". - Cultivation system
Feraland introgressionUnknown, as on RSC-KAZ-JAM-0120190001.
Georeferencing
No point is given. The page is a reproduction acclimatised at 50° N, away from the population it comes from, and the sources do not name the lot of the original accession. The donor's point on the USDA entries for the line, 54.9749, 60.3633, lies in the town of Chebarkul (OpenStreetMap relation 398409), 0.5 km from the town's node (271954653), at 329 m by SRTM: it marks the town the sourcing line names.
Source discrepancies
- Height. RSC: "1 to 2.5 metres". Kwik Seeds: "Variable".
- Generations. RSC: "The third generation". RSC from July 2025 to March 2026 also: "the first reproduction of the original accession to be made outside Siberia". The two statements are reported, not reconciled.
- Original accession. RSC: "from Bashkortostan" and "from Chelyabinsk, close to Kazakhstan"; sourcing line: "Chebarkul, Chelyabinsk". GRIN's entry G 33690, Bashkortostan: "Collected in Chebarkul, Chelyabinsk, Bashkortostan, Russia". Chebarkul lies in Chelyabinsk Oblast.
Photographs
The infobox image and the gallery image are from the RSC listing, uploaded under fair use at reduced resolution. The listing captions none of its photographs. The two used are filed under the name Selected Siberian 3rd Gen and have been on the listing since its earliest archived version, of May 2024, so they are taken to show this lot; the captions say so. Four other photographs added in September 2024 and July 2025, of plants in fields and among trees, carry no statement of what they show and are not used.
USDA genebank accession
The U.S. National Plant Germplasm System holds Selected Siberian 3rd Gen seed as G 33889 (GRIN-Global entry), received on 25 July 2024 in a donation from Angus. The infobox lists it as the same lot as this accession:
- the entry's name is the listing's title of the time, Selected Siberian (3rd Gen);
- the listing sold that lot from May 2024, before the donation, and after it.
Three other entries from the same donor concern the line and are not listed in the infobox, because nothing in them ties them to this lot:
- G 33888, Selected Siberian (GRIN-Global entry), received on 25 July 2024, with no narrative;
- G 33760, Siberian (GRIN-Global entry), received on 22 August 2023, described as wild-type, with no narrative;
- G 33690, Bashkortostan (GRIN-Global entry), received on 22 August 2023, whose donor's note describes "an ex-situ reproduction by North American hobbyists of seeds that were collected in Chebarkul", day-neutral, very hardy, with seeds that may stay dormant for a year or more.
