Evidentiary scope

The article rests on the RSC listing for Cretan, RSC's definition of its Heirlooms category and the Kwik Seeds listing of the same line. Kwik Seeds is the shop RSC calls its other site (RSC, Hemp & Multipurpose). The listings are seed-shop catalogue descriptions, not field records. They name no collector, farmer or site below the mountains of Rethymno. They date the collection only to the early 1990s. They establish that RSC distributes seed of a line it describes as a Cretan landrace kept as an heirloom and obtained from Delicorganic. They do not establish how many generations the line has been maintained away from Crete or how large the maintenance population is. Nor do they say whether the population still grows on Crete. The Phylos genotype report that RSC links loads its content in the browser and could not be read here, so its finding is reported only as RSC's statement. The listings place the collection in "the mountainous region of Rethimno on the island of Crete" and give a latitude of 35° N. No settlement is named. The coordinate is the label point of the Rethymno regional unit in OpenStreetMap (relation 554693), rounded to two decimal places: 35.21, 24.55. It marks the regional unit, not a collection site.

The regional unit is entered as the province, as RSC-GRC-ARC-0120050001 enters Arcadia and RSC-MAR-HOC-0119900001 enters Al Hoceima Province: the province-level unit the listing names, which in Greece is the regional unit (the former prefecture). Accession ID. RSC-GRC-RET-0119900001 takes the code RET from Rethymno. The month digits are 01, as on the other RSC accessions, because the listing gives no month. The year 1990 stands for "the early 90's", as on RSC-MAR-HOC-0119900001.
Name. The descriptive name follows the pattern of the other RSC heirloom lines (Arcadian 2005 IBL, Ketama 'Beldia' 1990 IBL).
Classification. Landrace IBL, Reproduction and Multi-generation reproduction follow RSC's filing of the line under Heirlooms, which RSC defines as inbred lines selected over generations in the West. They match the other Delicorganic line, RSC-GRC-ARC-0120050001. Autochtonous is No on the same basis.
Collector. Left blank. The listings name Delicorganic as the source and do not say who collected the seed in the early 1990s.
Collection date. Entered as "Early 1990s". SMW stores the value as 1990, as it does on RSC-MAR-HOC-0119900001.
Height. 3 to 4 m, the fuller range: Kwik Seeds gives 3 to 4 m and RSC "up to 4 meters".
Vocabulary mapping. "Strong branching" is entered as Extensive. High. RSC links a genetic analysis which it says indicates "a very rare landrace genotype with no known direct relatives". The seed was collected in the early 1990s in the mountains of Rethymno, and no other source of the line is named. The other heirloom lines on the wiki (Arcadian, Beldia and Congolese) are rated Low. Archived versions

The Wayback Machine holds 14 versions of the RSC listing, from May 2022 to May 2026. Ten were read; four, from March 2025 to January 2026, could not be retrieved in this pass. The May 2022 version is word for word the text Kwik Seeds carries now, typos included. RSC's genetics line then read "Heirloom Greek-Cretan Drug-type Domesticate" by October 2022 and "Cretan Cannabis Landrace / Heirloom" by June 2023. The purpose read "Bud or sieved hashish" from June 2023 and "Bud or dry-sieved hashish" by September 2024. Source collection

The seeds this line was grown from were collected in the mountains of Rethymno in the early 1990s and supplied by Delicorganic. That collection is now a separate accession, Cretan General Population 1990, under the holder code DEL, and this page names it as its parent.

This page keeps the article. RSC and Kwik Seeds describe the line they sell at length and the collection only in a sourcing line, so the collection's page carries what is stated about the collection and no more.

The coordinates moved with it. A single population should hold one point on the map, and the Rethymno point describes where the seed was collected rather than where the line has been grown since. Descriptive name

The descriptive name now leads with the year and the holder's acronym: 1990 RSC Cretan IBL, where it read Cretan 1990 IBL. Éloïse ruled on 17 September 2026 that a reproduction's descriptive name should carry the year first and name the reproducer, and it is applied to every reproduction in this corpus.

The acronym is the holder's, the same code the accession ID carries. It does not assert who conducted the grow-out: these listings name nobody, and the rule was given for a line whose reproducer the listing does not state either.
