Identifier
The accession identifier is RSC-GRC-PHT-0120200001-R1: the identifier of the 2020 collection, RSC-GRC-PHT-0120200001, with the reproduction suffix -R1.
Sourcing
The RSC listing for Moliotiko as it stood on 27 October 2026 and its 14 versions in the Wayback Machine from May 2022 to June 2026; the Kwik Seeds listing as it stood on 26 October 2026; RSC's posts of 22 August 2024, 17 February 2025 and 15 August 2025; and the GRIN-Global entry for G 33742.
Evidentiary scope
The sources establish that the seed on sale is a reproduction of the 2020 collection, and every archived version of the listing describes it so. They do not say where, when or with how many plants it was grown. The donor's note of 2023 says one generation had been grown outside Greece by then; the listing does not say whether the seed sold today is that generation or a later one.
Typing
- Accession type: Reproduction, autochtonous
No; classificationLandrace, the class of the collection. - Sourcing type is left empty: the listing does not say how many generations the seed is from the collection, and the donor's "one generation" describes the 2023 packet.
- No coordinates. The sources do not say where the reproduction was grown; the point for Molos is on RSC-GRC-PHT-0120200001, so the line appears on the map once.
- Seed viability.
Viable, from the listing's "High viability seeds". - Traits are on the collection's page, after the model of the other RSC reproductions.
Photographs
The infobox image and the gallery image are from the RSC listing, uploaded under fair use at reduced resolution. The listing says "Photos of plants in veg are at 40° N in mid-July", so the infobox caption places those plants there; plants at 40° N are not at Molos, so the photographs are on this page and not on the collection's. The listing says nothing about where its photographs of flowers were taken, and the gallery caption claims nothing about it. The flower photograph has been on the listing since May 2022, and the other photographs since September 2024. Of the listing's three photographs of young plants, one is used. The person holding the pole is not identified and their face is out of frame.
USDA genebank accession
The U.S. National Plant Germplasm System holds Moliotiko seed as G 33742 (GRIN-Global entry), received on 22 August 2023 in a donation from Angus. The infobox lists it as the same lot as this accession:
- the donor's note gives "Date of Collection: 2020, Place of Collection: Molos, Central Greece" and calls the seed "Maintained one generation ex-situ", a reproduction of the 2020 collection;
- every archived version of the listing, before and after the donation, sells a reproduction of the 2020 stock, and RSC lists no other Moliotiko lot.
