Identifier
The accession identifier is RSC-GRC-PHT-0120200001, built from the holder, the ISO 3166-1 alpha-3 country, the province segment, the month, the year and the sequence number.
- Province segment
PHTis for Phthiotis, the regional unit in which Molos lies. Greek accessions enter the regional unit as their province, asArcadia,MesseniaandRethymnodo. - Year 2020 is the harvest in the sourcing line. The month digits are
01because no month is given. - Sequence 0001. It is the only RSC accession for this province segment.
Sourcing
The RSC listing for Moliotiko as it stood on 27 October 2026 and its 14 versions in the Wayback Machine from May 2022 to June 2026; the Kwik Seeds listing as it stood on 26 October 2026; RSC's posts of 3 May 2024, 22 August 2024, 17 February 2025 and 15 August 2025; and the GRIN-Global entry for G 33742. Kwik Seeds is the shop RSC calls its other site (RSC, Hemp & Multipurpose).
Evidentiary scope
This page is the 2020 collection from farmers in Central Greece. Every archived version, from the first of May 2022, sells seed reproduced from it ("Reproduced from 2020 stock", now "High viability seeds reproduced from the original 2020 stock"), so RSC has never listed the 2020 seed itself; the reproduction is RSC-GRC-PHT-0120200001-R1. The account of the strain's names, its ancestry and the Egyptian market is RSC's and is attributed.
Typing
- Classification: Landrace, sourcing type
Point of Origin, autochtonousYes: the listing describes seed direct from farmers who grew the strain for decades. The donor's note on G 33742 says the same: "seeds direct from cultivators in Central Greece". - Collector is left empty: the sourcing line names no collector, and the GRIN entry's collector field is not used as evidence.
- Locality is
Molos, the place the sourcing line names. - Local name and synonyms. Moliotiko ("from Molos"), and Lamiotiko and Sertiko, as the listing gives them. "Molos Red" is RSC's English rendering of a Greek name it does not give, so it stays in the prose.
- Photoperiod: Semi-autoflowering, from RSC's post of 15 August 2025. The listing itself does not state it.
- Traits. Height, aroma and the processing notes are the listing's description of the reproduction on sale, the only description RSC publishes. "Charas / hashish (dry-sieved cannabis resin)" is entered as
Dry-sift. - Seasons. Sowing at the end of March and harvest in October are the listing's account of the strain "at its latitude of origin".
- Introgression
Minimalfollows the other RSC accessions; the listing does not state it.
Georeferencing
The point 38.81, 22.64 is the village of Molos, OpenStreetMap node 154096096, in the municipal unit of Molos, Phthiotis. It is the place the sourcing line names, not the farms the seed came from, which RSC places only in Central Greece. The community of Molos covers about 21 km² (relation 1900416). Basis: settlement point. Uncertainty: about 4 km.
Source discrepancies
- Latitude. RSC: "Latitude: 37° N". Molos lies at about 38.8° N.
- Height. RSC: "Up to 2 metres". Kwik Seeds: "c. 2 metres". RSC from May 2022 to May 2024: "2 to 4 metres".
- Harvest. RSC: "mid-August to early October" in its header, and "harvested during October" at the latitude of origin in its text. Kwik Seeds, and RSC until September 2024: "October".
- Purpose. RSC: "Charas / hashish (dry-sieved cannabis resin); latterly, sinsemilla". Kwik Seeds, and RSC until January 2023: "Charas (sieved resin)".
- Ancestry. RSC: "likely descended from the original cannabis landraces". RSC until September 2024 and the GRIN donor's note: "presumed to be in part descended from the East Mediterranean cannabis landraces". Kwik Seeds: "descended from the Eastern Mediterranean domesticates".
- Only on RSC. Molos, the XY monoecy, "semidwarf", the selection for sinsemilla and the derivation of Sertiko.
