Evidentiary scope

The label records the plant as cultivated at a named village, gives its height and a Lao name, and calls it hemp. It is a single gathering and shows neither a continuing population nor a living germplasm holding, so it supports neither a landrace nor a feral classification. The accession is classified Other. No conservation priority is assigned.

Georeferencing

Ban na Punh was not found in OpenStreetMap by Nominatim. Xieng Khouang resolves, but as a province and a town, not as the village the label names. No coordinate is asserted.

Editorial treatment

The local name field holds the label's romanisation, Ko phai meo. The Lao script that follows it on the label is legible as script but was not transcribed: the published image does not carry it cleanly enough to set the characters down, and a wrong transcription would be worse than none.

Meos is the label's exonym and is quoted, not replaced. Whether the article may equate Meo with the Hmong is an open question of 22 September 2026, and it is not equated here. The Thai label of Suvannasuddhi 457 carries the parallel compound ป่านแม้ว, "Meo hemp".
