Caribbean National Weekly says the bill was approved "early Wednesday morning" (Caribbean National Weekly, 8 October 2026). The Parliament's page for the bill lists the Senate's third reading on 7 October 2026, with "15 votes for, 12 votes against, 3 abstentions" (Parliament of Trinidad and Tobago).

The House of Representatives passed the bill on 30 September 2026, which has its own news item. The Parliament's page lists the Senate's committee stage on 7 October as "Approved with amendments". The sources read do not say whether the House has since considered the Senate's amendments.
