The NDLEA statement of Sunday 4 October 2026 says operatives "on 29 September searched a container from Montreal, Canada". The stored date is 29 September.

The container's origin in Montreal, the name "Canadian Loud" and the valuation of "more than N3.8 billion" are the agency's statements, reported by Premium Times, and the summary attributes them to NDLEA.

The same statement reports a separate seizure of 124 kg at Apapa Port, which has its own news item. It also reports the destruction of a cannabis farm in Ife South, Osun State, which has a news item. The statement further reports 22 kg of cannabis found with three vehicles in a container at Onne Port, Rivers State, and seizures of other drugs, which are outside this news item. Premium Times notes an earlier NDLEA announcement of 603.75 kg seized at the same port, a different event.

These notes were recorded when the news item was prepared. Éloise 01:08, 9 October 2026 (+07)
