NDLEA recovers 1,297.5 kg of cannabis hidden in two cars, drums and bags in a container from Montreal at Tincan Island Port

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) said in a statement on Sunday 4 October 2026, reported by Premium Times, that its operatives acting on intelligence searched a container from Montreal, Canada, at Tincan Island Port in Lagos on 29 September. The agency said they recovered 2,595 parcels of what it called Canadian Loud weighing 1,297.5 kg, concealed inside a Toyota Sienna and a Hyundai Elantra together with 24 drums and six jumbo bags. NDLEA valued the consignment at more than N3.8 billion.
