Two days earlier Polres Aceh Besar destroyed a field in the same subdistrict, recorded at Aceh Besar police destroy about 3,500 cannabis plants on one hectare at Pulo in Seulimeum. The two reports agree on about 3,500 plants and a 5 km approach and differ on the other details:

Grow Media Indonesia (article dated 18 September 2026) is the only report of this operation that was read in full. Kontras Aceh published a report under an address dated 18 September 2026, headed "Deninteldam IM Temukan Ladang Ganja 1,5 Hektare di Pegunungan Aceh Besar" (link). Its page returned an access error and was not read; the headline agrees with Grow Media Indonesia on the unit and the area. Serambi Indonesia's report headed "Ribuan Batang Ganja Dimusnahkan, Ditemukan di Kawasan Perbukitan Aceh Besar" (link) also could not be opened, and which operation it describes is not known.

The Grow Media Indonesia report does not name a spokesperson or give a source for its account of the operation.
