Source discrepancies

KalingaTV, the cited source, and OdishaBytes give different accounts of how the ganja was found.

Outlet How the ganja was found
KalingaTV (cited) "found dumped in the vicinity of village MV-73"; "reportedly dumped by someone near MV-73 village"; "no one has been apprehended so far"
OdishaBytes "allegedly concealed inside the forest"; "a police team conducted a raid in the area and recovered the contraband"; "people involved in the illegal trade had fled the spot before the police team reached there"

This news item follows KalingaTV for the weight, the case and the absence of arrests. Its account of the police acting on information and of those involved leaving before the team arrived comes from OdishaBytes.

Dating

Neither report gives the date of the seizure. KalingaTV is dated "On Aug 26, 2026", and OdishaBytes ends its first sentence "police said on Wednesday", which was 26 August 2026. This news item carries 26 August 2026, the date of the reports.

Attribution

Only OdishaBytes names a destination: "The ganja is suspected to have been concealed in the forest for subsequent transportation to other states." It does not say who holds the suspicion. KalingaTV names no destination. This news item gives the destination as a suspicion.

Sources not used

OdishaBytes also says "Officials said Kalimela police have seized more than three tonnes of ganja in raids at different locations over the past month" and places the seizure "amid intensified action under the state government’s ‘Nisha Mukta Odisha’ campaign". KalingaTV carries neither statement, and this news item carries neither.

Category

The reports describe a stock of ganja found in a forest, not a consignment stopped in transit and not plants growing in a field. This news item is filed under Enforcement, not Trafficking or Eradication.
