Police recover 1,025 kg of ganja concealed in forest near MV-73 in Kalimela

Police in Malkangiri district were reported to have recovered 1,025 kilograms of ganja concealed in a forest area near MV-73 village, within the limits of Kalimela police station and to have valued the material at about 1.02 crore rupees. According to the reports a police team acted on information that a quantity had been hidden in the forest. Those involved left before the team arrived. A case was registered at Kalimela police station under section 20(b)(ii)(C) of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act and no arrest was made. The contraband was reported to be suspected of having been stockpiled for onward transport to other states. Neither report gives a seizure date.
