Evidentiary scope

The label gives Lieu: Ban Xay Fong (place: Ban Xay Fong), near Vientiane, in May 1973, and records the plant as cultivée (cultivated). It gives Nom vernac.: Kan Xa Hua nok khao (vernacular name, a Lao name for the plant) and, as uses, aliment (food) and médecine et alimentation? (medicine and food?), with the label's own question mark. The catalogue repeats Cultivée. Seed of drug-type cannabis from elsewhere reached old growing areas from the 1970s (McPartland and Small 2020, pp. 84–85), so the date of this sheet does not exclude introduced seed. The class rests on the label: cultivation at the village of Ban Xay Fong, under a Lao name, for food and medicine. The accession is classified Landrace, by inference from the label and the catalogue. The sheet does not show what became of the crop or whether its seed survives, and no conservation priority is assigned.

Georeferencing

Ban Xay Fong was not found in OpenStreetMap by Nominatim under that spelling; the searches returned other villages of the Vientiane plain, which would be the wrong place. The label puts it near Vientiane and no closer. No coordinate is asserted.
