ATAO Genetics is an Organisation, a prose entity page. It documents the seed brand and what it says about its lines, not the person behind it. Lines held as seed are documented as Accessions, and the article lists them by query rather than by hand.

The article rests on the brand's own website and Overgrow posts, on its stockists' listings and on the opening posts of Overgrow's fundraisers. Every statement about the history of a line is the brand's own account and is attributed as such. Sources read

The brand's website (ataogenetics.godaddysites.com), read on 8 October 2026. Its seed list is headed "My Seeds Collection (October 2026)". No archived copy of the site was read.
The brand's own Overgrow threads, all public posts as of 8 October 2026: "Atao Genetics" (topic 99423), "Mazar I Shariff (Atao's Strawberry IBL)" (topic 104826), "Atao's Shop (OG's Fifty Fifty)" (topic 171551) and "Atao's THC-V Drugstore" (topic 216788). Also the opening posts of three Overgrow fundraisers (topics 104432, 184891 and 248530).
Stockist listings, read on 8 October 2026: Hemp Depot's Atao Seeds page, SeedHeaven's Atao Genetics category and three of its product pages, and Bunkerlinge's ATAO Genetics page. The ZenHouseGardens product page refused the request and was not read. Growing Up Ganja's page for the brand no longer exists.
SeedFinder: the breeder page and the Thaizar and Mazjam pages. Their line descriptions match SeedHeaven's listings, which the article cites.
Not read: two International Cannagraphic Magazine (ICMag) threads on the brand's lines (threads 276346 and 326143), which sit behind a browser check; and the brand's Instagram accounts (atao_seeds, and atao_genetics, which SeedFinder links), apart from one post seen in a screenshot (below).
A "strain guide" page on Thaizar from a retail-software blog is machine-written and is not used.
No press coverage, interview or company registration for the brand was found.

The account

ATAO Genetics posts on Overgrow as Roms. SeedFinder's breeder page for Atao Genetics reads "I'm Roms, original breeder since 2009!", and the account opened the Overgrow threads named for the brand, its Mazari line and its shop. The article names the brand in its prose; the citations give the account name together with the brand, because that is how the forum shows the author.

Founding date and base

The infobox's 2009 is the brand's own date for the start of its breeding. SeedFinder ("original breeder since 2009"), the opening post of the brand's Overgrow thread ("original magus breeder since 2009") and its account of the Mazar-i-Sharif line all give it. No registration of a business under the name was found, and no source says when the name ATAO was first used.
The infobox gives the country only. The organiser of the August 2026 fundraiser wrote that "Roms ships from France", and the brand's post of 19 September 2025 blames customs laws that "block Europe/France". The article gives nothing finer.

Stockists

The listings read give no location for SeedHeaven or Bunkerlinge, so the article gives none.
Hemp Depot's page for the brand was still online on 8 October 2026; the brand's post of 4 September 2026 says the shop had closed. The article states the closure from that post.
Bunkerlinge's shop copy calls the brand "small but respected". It is a retailer's sales text and is not used.
The Mazar-i-Sharif line is listed as F5 by Hemp Depot, "5th generation" by SeedHeaven and P5 by Bunkerlinge and the brand's website. SeedHeaven's text says the F3 and F4 were grown indoors; Hemp Depot's says the F3 to F5 were.

Mazar-i Sharif and The Landrace Team

On 2 April 2026 (Overgrow topic 104826, post 219) the brand wrote that it believed The Landrace Team (TLT) had its line, pointing to the strawberry, peach and lemon aromas in TLT's description, and returned to the claim on 3 April (post 224). An Instagram post by atao_seeds says the same; it was read only from a screenshot attached to Overgrow topic 90519, post 91. The screenshot was taken on 2 June 2026 and shows the date "3 april" without a year, which Instagram omits for posts of the current year. A comment by atao_seeds under that post links https://www.tltseeds.com/afghanistan. On 10 April 2026 the brand wrote of its 16-year-old Strawberry Mazari in the Overgrow thread on TLT (topic 90519, post 82).
TLT's listing at that address is in the first capture of the site (Common Crawl, 11 December 2018), where the aroma has "fruity notes, which make us think of peaches and apricots". The line "Aromas: strawberris, lemons, apricots, fruity, sweet" is there by 24 October 2021; no capture between the two was read. The brand dates the public release of its F4 to 2021. No version of TLT's listing names a source for its seed.
Nothing read shows where TLT's seed of the line came from, and no reply by TLT to the brand was found. The article reports the brand's belief in its own name, with TLT's listing beside it, in the same terms as the article on The Landrace Team.
Wording in the brand's posts that goes beyond its belief about the line is not quoted.

Material left out

Personal details: where and with whom the breeding was done, names given to plants, the breeder's heritage (one stockist explains the brand name through it) and the contact address on the website. The article covers the brand, not the person behind it.
Product claims: the cannabinoid content (THCV), effects and medical uses that the brand's listings and a stockist's copy claim for the lines. None is checked, and none is used.

ATAO Genetics is the brand's styling on its website and on Bunkerlinge; SeedFinder and SeedHeaven write Atao Genetics. Hemp Depot lists the brand as Atao Seeds, and its Instagram account is atao_seeds. Atao Genetics and Atao Seeds redirect here.
