Soulié 1224 is a herbarium accession of Cannabis sativa collected at Tsekou, in what its label calls eastern Tibet, now in Yunnan, China, by the missionary J. A. Soulié, and received in Paris on 8 July 1903. The Muséum national d’Histoire naturelle in Paris holds the sheet as P06884291.[1]
Collection and locality
The printed museum label reads Plantes de Chine. (Thibet oriental.) Tsekou. R. P. Soulié., with the name Cannabis sativa L. and the stamp Reçu le 8 Juillet 1903. Two older slips carry the number N: 1224 and a word in cursive.[2]
Specimen and identification
The sheet carries a branched flowering stem with long, open flowering spikes and palmate leaves.[2] The label and the catalogue name the plant Cannabis sativa L.[2][1] Soulié's gathering at Tatsienlou ten years earlier is Soulié 844 (1893).
