The printed label is headed P. Sintenis: Iter transcaspico-persicum 1900-1901. It gives the number № 1331., the name Cannabis sativa L. and the locality Persia borealis; prov. Asterabad; Bender Ges: in cultis., northern Persia, Astarabad province, Bender Ges, in cultivated ground, with the date 25. XI. 1900. and determ. J. Bender Ges is the town now spelled Bandar-e Gaz, in Golestan Province, which took in the old province of Astarabad. The coordinate is the town as Wikidata places it.[4]

A revision slip of the Natural History Museum, Vienna, printed for Flora Iranica and dated 1977 in Karl Heinz Rechinger's name, reads Est!, confirming the name.[3] The catalogue gives Cannabis sativa L.[1] A duplicate of the gathering is at Lund University's herbarium.[5] Edinburgh publishes the sheet image under a Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike licence.[3]
