Schlagintweit 4366 is a herbarium accession of Cannabis sativa collected by Schlagintweit in the environs of Srinagar, Kashmir, between 10 August and 30 September 1856.[1] The Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh holds the sheet as catalogue E00248605.[2] GBIF publishes it as occurrence 575329452.[3]
Collection and locality
The printed label of the Herbarium Schlagintweit from India and High Asia gives the region Western Himálaya, the province Kashmír and the locality Drained lake basin of Kashmír; environs of Srinágger, within a circle of 8 miles radius.[1] It dates the collection 10 August to 30 September 1856 and leaves the height blank.[1]
The catalogue gives the date as 10 August 1856 and records no locality.[2][3]
Specimen and identification
The label gives the general catalogue number 4366. The plant is named Cannabis sativa L. by hand.[1] A printed slip at the foot of the sheet reads Herbarium of John Ball, F.R.S. Presented by his Trustees, 1891.[1] The catalogue records the collector as John Ball.[2][3]
