2008 RSC Sudanese Reproduction is seed grown outside Sudan from Sudanese General Population 2008, landrace seed that The Real Seed Company (RSC) collected in the Nile River region of southern Sudan in 2008. It is the seed RSC sells under the listing Sudanese.[1] The line is on sale at RSC and on its Kwik Seeds site (checked 27 October 2026).[1][2]

Production

The listing does not say how the seed on sale was produced.[1] In August 2023 Angus gave a packet of Sudanese seed to the U.S. National Plant Germplasm System, which holds it as accession G 33762 at its Plant Genetic Resources Unit in Geneva, New York.[3][4] The donor's note calls it seed from an ex situ maintenance grow of an accession collected in 2008 in the Nile River region of South Sudan.[3]

Botanical Characteristics

The listing's photographs carry no captions. They show plants of the line flowering indoors, shown since September 2020; dried buds, since August 2021; and tall plants outdoors, since December 2024.[5][6][7] Growers quoted on the listing report lemon, citrus and pineapple aromas and heavy resin, and RSC reports seed of 100 per cent viability with vigorous seedlings.[1]

Source accession

RSC collected the seed in the Nile River region of southern Sudan in 2008.[1] The geography, history and description RSC gives for the line are on the page of the collection, Sudanese General Population 2008.
