Bokeo #2 General Population 2022 is a landrace cannabis accession from Bokeo Province, Laos, listed as Bokeo #2 in the seed catalogue of The Real Seed Company (RSC).[1] RSC classifies it as a Lao-Thai ganja landrace.[1]
Geography
RSC places the landrace in the Bokeo region of northwest Laos, immediately east of the Mekong, at a latitude of about 20° N.[1] It reports that the fields and plots lie far from any conceivable source of contamination by modern hybrids, isolated by hundreds of kilometres of sparsely populated highlands and jungle.[1]
Collection Details
The listing gives the sourcing as The Real Seed Company, Laos (2022).[1] RSC reports that the seed came from farmers in communities that have no contact with Westerners or Asians who might introduce modern hybrid seeds. RSC writes that it has every reason to believe the seed comes from pristine and authentic traditional ganja domesticates.[1] It describes the line as a distinct type from its earlier Bokeo offering (Bokeo General Population 2021), hence the number in the name.[1]
RSC reports that the seed was retested in summer 2025 with germination rates close to 100 per cent. The Kwik Seeds listing of the same line, on the shop RSC calls its other site,[2] reports good germination rates from that retest.[3]
Cultivation Details
RSC states that all tropical ganja is grown as a six-month crop from seed to harvest. It gives the regional growing period as about five to six months and lists greenhouse or outdoor growing.[1]
Botanical Characteristics
RSC gives a height of up to 4 metres and a Sativa-type architecture.[1] The Kwik Seeds listing gives a height of about 2 to 4 metres.[3] Versions of the RSC listing from 2022 to 2024 gave 2 to 4 metres.[4] Versions from 2022 to April 2025 classified the line as C. sativa subsp. indica var. indica.[4][5]
