2019 RSC Iranian Reproduction is seed grown outside Iran from Iranian General Population 2019, a cannabis landrace collected in the Khorasan region in 2019. The Real Seed Company (RSC) has sold it under the listing Iranian since August 2022.[1][2]
Production
RSC describes the seed as an open-pollinated reproduction of the 2019 accession.[1] That wording first appears in the archived version of 18 August 2022; the version of 20 May 2022 still described the seed as a new accession from the 2019 harvest.[2][3] The listings do not say where the reproduction was grown, in which year, or how many generations have been grown since the collection, so no sourcing type is entered.
RSC offers the seed at a reduced price because it tested below 80 per cent viability.[1] The Kwik Seeds listing of the same line, on the shop RSC calls its other site,[4] reports germination close to 100 per cent.[5] When the line came back into stock in July 2022, RSC wrote that it could not be entirely sure the line is pristine.[6]
Source accession
The collection this seed descends from was made in the Khorasan region of northeastern Iran in 2019 and is credited to the collector Kushman.[1] Its geography, history, botanical description and photographs are at Iranian General Population 2019.
