East Aceh police seize 23 cannabis plants growing among chilli bushes at Gampong Cek Mbon, Peureulak, and take in a 45-year-old farmer

Prohaba, the Aceh-language site of the Tribun group, reported that the narcotics unit of East Aceh police raided a hut in a chilli plantation at about 17.30 on Friday 30 October after receiving information, and seized 23 cannabis plants that it estimated to be two months old. The article says a farmer identified by the initials AA, aged 45, showed officers where the plants were and said in a first examination that he had planted them without the knowledge of the land's actual owner. It quotes the police chief saying the force is committed to acting against the planting of cannabis as well as its distribution.
