Customs and immigration police detain three foreigners with 73 kg of suspected cannabis at Techo International Airport

The Phnom Penh Post reported, citing the General Department of Customs and Excise, that customs officers working with immigration police at the departure terminal of Techo International Airport detained three foreign nationals on 9 September 2026. The department said they were carrying 146 packages of dried plant material suspected to be cannabis, with a combined net weight of 73.017 kg, as well as more than 6 kg of white powder believed to be heroin. The case was one of five drug seizures from departing passengers at the airport in the first two weeks of September, in which seven people were arrested.
