Police find hundreds of harvested cannabis plants in forest at Sibolangit in Deli Serdang

Pewarta reported that officers of the Pancurbatu sector police found hundreds of already harvested cannabis stems standing in forest at Dusun II Sarang Kulit in Desa Ketangkuhan, Sibolangit subdistrict, Deli Serdang regency, on Tuesday 8 September 2026. According to the report two residents hunting in the forest saw the plants and told the village head, who passed the information to the sector police chief, and officers walked for more than an hour over steep terrain to reach the site. Officers found an empty bamboo hut roofed with tarpaulin nearby holding dried cannabis leaf stored in buckets and sacks together with seed that police believed was intended for replanting. The sector police chief, Kompol Junaidi, said no one was at the site and that the owner and operator of the plot were still being investigated, and all the material was taken to the Pancurbatu sector police station. The report describes the plants as counted in hundreds without giving a figure, and does not report any of the crop being destroyed.
