Anti-Narcotics Unit seizes bhang worth over Sh10 million at Mai Mahiu in Naivasha

The Standard reported that officers of the Anti-Narcotics Unit recovered bhang worth more than 10 million shillings during an operation on the Mai Mahiu to Narok road near Mai Mahiu in Naivasha on 7 September 2026. According to the report the three suspects were arrested while offloading and repackaging the consignment into a house along the road, and officers acted on a tip-off from members of the public. The Nakuru county police commander, Samuel Boit, said the consignment was bound for Nairobi from western Kenya and that the three would be taken to court. He described the Mai Mahiu to Narok road as one of the main corridors used to move bhang from western Kenya to Nairobi and Mombasa and said patrols had been increased.
