Polres Karo seizes 12 cannabis plants and about 4.5 kg of cannabis at Tigapanah after a traffic accident

Metro24Jam reported that traffic and narcotics officers of the Karo district police found cannabis on a 69-year-old man while dealing with a road accident in front of the Mulawari filling station on the Kabanjahe to Merek road in Tigapanah subdistrict at about noon on Thursday 3 September 2026. According to the report officers recovered damp cannabis consisting of twigs, leaves and seed with a net weight of 510 g together with one packet of dried cannabis weighing 5.51 g from a bag the man was carrying, along with a pair of scissors and an unregistered motorcycle. Officers then went to a farm plot at Desa Suka in the same subdistrict, where they recovered 12 cannabis plants between 110 and 260 cm tall with a net weight of 4,000 g, bringing the total to about 4.5 kg. The man and the material were taken to the Karo district narcotics unit, and the report cites the district police chief through the head of the narcotics unit and states that charges were laid under articles 111(2) and 114(2) of Law 35 of 2009.
