R. Udayagiri police recover about 900 kg of ganja in 30 gunny bags at Kadamuli in Gajapati

Police at R. Udayagiri in Gajapati district were reported to have recovered about nine quintal, or roughly 900 kilograms, of ganja concealed in a hilly forest area behind Kadamuli village under Purunapani panchayat on the night of 26 August 2026. Police valued the material at over one crore rupees. According to the report a team led by the inspector in charge, Kalpalata Pradhan, was conducting night patrols and warrant raids across the Cheligada, Mahendragada, Sialilati, Kanakata and Purunapani areas when it received information that a quantity of ganja had been concealed near Kadamuli for transport outside Odisha. Officers recovered 30 gunny bags at the site and no arrest was made, with those involved reported to have left before the team arrived. A case was registered at R. Udayagiri police station.
