Devon woman pleads guilty to importing 51.2 kg of cannabis seized at Heathrow
Amy Jayne Durban (45), of Hemyock in Devon, pleaded guilty at Isleworth Crown Court on 6 August 2026 to smuggling Class B drugs after Border Force officers found 51.2 kg of cannabis in two suitcases she brought off a Bangkok flight at Heathrow Airport on 6 July. The National Crime Agency, which investigated, said the cannabis had a street value of at least £512,000. Durban was remanded after an earlier appearance at Uxbridge Magistrates' Court and is to be sentenced on 14 October. NCA senior investigating officer Mark Abbott warned that couriers caught smuggling cannabis face prison and lasting damage to career and travel prospects. Reported by the National Crime Agency on 7 August 2026.
