Police officer arrested in Dagoretti after 20 kg of cannabis recovered from his home, Nairobi

Officers from Muthangari Police Station arrested a fellow officer after recovering two bags holding about 20 kg of suspected cannabis during a search of his residence in Dagoretti sub-county. The National Police Service said the operation followed a tip-off from members of the public about alleged illegal activities. The officer was taken into custody pending processing and arraignment, with the suspected narcotics secured as exhibits. The service said no individual would receive preferential treatment because of position or status, stating that "any person, regardless of status or position, found to be engaging in criminal activities will be subjected to due process".
