National Narcotics Control Commission publishes the 2023 China Drug Situation Report, recording Thailand as the main source of imported cannabis

The National Narcotics Control Commission Office published its annual drug situation report for 2023. It records 78 cases of cannabis smuggled into China with 120.1 kg seized, of which 30 cases and 105.3 kg originated in Thailand and 17 cases and 3.6 kg in the United States. This is the first year in the series in which Thailand rather than North America is given as the main source. The report gives a national average retail price of 334 yuan per gram, down 23 per cent year on year. Note that these figures cover imported cannabis only. Figures are the commission's own.
