Miyazaki Selection 1930 is a historical seed accession of Cannabis sativa that the United States Department of Agriculture received from Miyazaki, Japan on 5 May 1930 and numbered plant introduction (PI) 87522.[1] No seed of the lot survives. The National Plant Germplasm System, whose database carries the department's introductions, says the accession "no longer exists and can not be requested".[1]
The lot
F. Oshiumi of the Kawa-Minami branch of the Miyazaki agricultural experiment station sent the seed with roots of ramie, received on 5 May 1930. The department's printed inventory describes the hemp as "Seeds of several varieties which have been improved by selection."[2]
