Bengal-Mayapur General Population is a seed accession of weedy cannabis from Mayapur, West Bengal, India, held by the U.S. National Plant Germplasm System (NPGS) as G 33864. Angus donated the seed, and the system received it on 25 July 2024.[1] The donor's note says the plants grew as weeds or feral plants, but adds that the line is a fine one in regions such as Bengal, where letting cannabis come up in or around the house, "accidentally on purpose", is common, whether as self-sown plants or as weedy plants that are well looked after. The donor classes the lot as a wild type in the sense of a 2020 classification by Ernest Small and John McPartland.[1]
