Shanghai General Population 1910 is a historical seed accession of Cannabis sativa that the United States Department of Agriculture received from Shanghai, China, on 25 March 1910 and numbered plant introduction (PI) 27194.[1] No seed of the lot survives. The National Plant Germplasm System, whose database carries the department's introductions, says the accession "no longer exists and can not be requested".[1]
The lot
The department's printed inventory lists the lot as hemp from Shanghai, the first of five kinds of seed (nos. 27194 to 27198) presented by the Rev. J. M. W. Farnham and received on 25 March 1910.[2]
